NEWS STORY 34 - Domo O'Regatto ! Cesario blows out Grade 1 American Oaks at Hollywood in front of large crowd.
We spoke to our friends in Japan, and they told us Cesario was one of the best Japanese fillies of all time. Wow, were they ever right ! This daughter of Sunday Silence turned a Grade 1 $750K race into a walkover .....

Cesario came out onto the Hollywood surface from the tunnel and ran off with her jockey, Fukutaka. He looked completely relaxed and in control, but watching them go around the first turn, I thought, "oh no, she's going to run her race before the race". Fukutaka was not concerned and it told me he knew this little girl much better then we did.
As the fillies came out of the chute at Hollywood Park, Cesario broke alertly and toward the lead. Her Jockey, Fukutaka, took back and settled in 3rd place as the pace was an honest one. All through the running of this race, I could not help but watch Cesario. She simply shined, and I do mean shined through the running of this race. As the fillies went down the backstretch, Cesario made her move into the far turn. I remarked to my fans at home and on the telephone that this was going to be a big win, an impressive performance. As Cesario took the lead, she just pulled away with authority. No other filly in this race had the class or talent to run with her. There were no incidents or problems during the running of this race. Cesario just showed us she was far and above the greatest filly in training today.
Overbet Frankel favorite, Mehlor Ahinda, deserved to be bet, but she was not in the same league with this Japanese Superstar. In fact, the rest of the field was left in her wake as she turned the stretch run into a coronation.
The final time for the race was a *NEW* Stakes record in 1:59 flat for 1 1/4 on the turf at Hollywood Park. You could see the entire Carrot Farm had left the briar patch in Japan to come watch this race. They were all smiles and waving to the crowd. What an awesome performance this race was. Perhaps this is one of the 10 best Horse Races of All Time. We watched a Great Filly completely annihilate a Grade 1 Race in her first start in this country. As was pointed out in the broadcast, Cesario did not come to the US for the purse money, which was about 1/2 of what she could have run for in Japan. She came here for the prestige and honor of competition.
Everyone at The Stick Horse Racing dot Com SALUTES Cesario and gives a Big Wave of The Stick in tribute to a wonderful filly. We truly hope to see her in the Breeders Cup, but if she runs or not, she has proven that she is the best in the World already. Domo O'Regatto Carrot Farm, you really impressed us, Very Well Done !
Kudos go to Ken Rudolph again. The TVG announcer correctly picked the longest price horse to hit the board and even interviewed her trainer, James Cassidy before the race. Singhalese, at 50-1 was dismissed by everyone except Rudolph and her trainer, and she ran big for 3rd in a deep field of talent. Nice job TVG, Great coverage of the race. You did a better job then other's did on Saturday with their shows which did not even show results until 15 minutes after the races. Everyone in the broadcast business can learn from TVG. The Stick Horse Racing dot Com is a very big fan and supporter of TVG. Check them out when you have a chance.
As pointed out by another star commentator, Todd Schrup, The stands at Hollywood Park were full to the rafters ! It goes to show the entire Horse Racing community that if you set up big days and promote them, the fans will show up in large numbers. We never saw a crowd like they had at Hollywood Park for an identical race that they run at Belmont Park. The Flower Bowl is identical in every way $750K, Grade 1 Fillies on the turf at 1 1/4 Mile. Hollywood Park is showing us that when their back is to the wall, they can fight back and generate excitement and draw a big crowd to the races. Well Done Hollywood Park !
Congratulations go to All our Stick Horse Racing Fans who ordered our Selections, as we had Ceasario on top as THE Best Bet of the Day. Great Day at Hollywood guys ! Lets keep our Great Picks coming in for you.
Best Regards and Racing, MC_Excelsior
