NEWS STORY 18 - Santa Anita Derby, Wood Memorial this Saturday. Big Day of Racing.
Around 10,000 fans turned out to watch the $1,000,000 Florida Derby this past saturday. Nick Zito came to this dance with both guns loaded and blazing ! Will the Wood Memorial help us sort out the rest of the Derby picture ? So far, Zito calling all the shots.

4/09/05-Major Kentucky Derby Prep Races this Saturday.

We will have major racing action this weekend fans, with a full wrap up after the races run by that evening.

We will be offering a *Special* EXPERT Level Card for Aqueduct and the Wood Memorial.

Santa Anita Derby selections will be available on Instant View for Santa Anita.

Ashland for fillies selections will be available on Instant View Keeneland.

4/06/05-Florida Derby wrap up, Wood Memorial, Arkansas Derby loom on the horizon.

*THE FLORIDA DERBY* Gulfstream - We watched some of the best 3 year olds racing run this past Saturday in Florida. It was a Grade 1 at 1 1/8 miles for a cool $1,000,000.

Nick Zito came in with two powerhouses who finished 1-2 at the wire. Stable mates(but not entry mates) High Fly and Noble Causeway both finished very powerfully and have made it known that they will contest the Kentucky Derby on the first saturday in May.

Laying in 2nd position most of the race, High fly($4.40), under Jerry Bailey, took command at the top of the stretch and never looked back. Jerry Bailey had timed his ride perfectly and had a lot of horse turning for home.

2nd place finisher, Noble Causeway($3.60), under Edgar Prado closed strongly for 2nd place, and would have won this race if not for his stable mate coming in first. Watch out for this one at Churchill Downs, as he has a very powerful late turn of speed and is a strong and muscular looking horse.

BB Best(Chavez, $3.80) held on to 3rd after leading most of the race. Exacta paid $16.80. Triple paid $65, and Superfecta with Park Avenue Ball(Castellano 26-1) paid $237.60.

Final time of : 1:49 3/5 was a good time for the distance, and has to be looked at in light of the racing surface rather then the ability of the horses. These guys can run much faster if they choose to !
