Fourth Selection: G73 PP#3 Path of Thunder *Velazquez* 100/105 *LSJ*

Fifth Selection: G75 PP#6 Changing World *Prado* 99/105

Full Comments :

Film Maker was 2nd in last years B.Cup Turf for F&M.; Bailey teams up with Motion and they are a solid pair. This girl likes to close powerfully and middle move. May not be perfectly suited for this track, but is almost certain to be in the top 3 and has a clear class edge.

Brivuesca drops back to a distance she likes very much. Ramon Dominguez returns to his first track today and everyone will be looking for his horses to run. This one will run big and should be included in all exotics. Can upset the top choice on solid trip through the stretch.

Art Fan has a lot of speed, which should help her in this race. This is her 2nd race off a layoff, and we look for her to gun to the lead and try to steal the race. Its possible, but she will have to get soft early fractions to hold on. A coin toss where to put this one in your superfecta.

Path of Thunder won her last 3 and was a close 2nd 4 back. This is the case of a filly who has run through her conditions and must step up into a stakes race, or face the prospect of high weight against lesser horses. This one is possible, but is taking a giant leap up in class. Johnny V and Pletcher know how to get the job done, so its your call if you trust them in this race. A possible long shot play.

Changing World is another with speed to spare and may hook in a duel with Art Fan going down the backstretch. This one always tires for 3rd or 4th, but in this high level stakes, may not be in the money...or on best may be 2nd or 3rd.

Race #8-MARYLAND BCUP G3-$200K-6 Furlongs *GRADE 3 STAKES HORSES*

Top Selection: G78 PP#8 Willy o'the Valley *Prado* 117/120 *FFS*

Second Selection: G73 PP#4 Primary Suspect *Bailey* 115/125 *BLZ*

Third Selection: G74 PP#6 Gators N Bears *Lopez* 113/120 *SSP*

Fourth Selection: G70 PP#3 With Distinction *Stevens* 110/120 *LSJ

Fifth Selection: P95 PP#1 Take Achance On Me *Bejarano* 108/115

Full Comments :

Will of the valley is one of those Dutrow high claimers that is now a stakes calibre horse. A lot of questions for this one, but if he duplicates his previous races, this one can run big and go wire to wire. The use of Prado tells you the connections are serious, a nice speedball, must break cleanly and not run into pressure.

Primary Suspect was outgunned in the Grade 1 Carter last out, but showed signs of life 2 back and 4 races back when he won with authority and power. This horse seems to run a big race followed by a bad race, and if that cycle remains constant, this race should be the strong race. Bailey likes to send this one, and thats the way to win at Pimlico. Don't play this horse if the weather is off, he hates the wet.

Gators n Bears ran against top level sprinters in his last few races, but you know he has not won in a long time. The low level morning line odds are not deserved at all. *NOTE - You have to ask what the oddsmaker was thinking when he made the lines for today, many races seem to have the wrong horse as the favorite, or big longshot odds for quality horses. Disregard the morning line odds, we dont like them.

With Distinction is a California speedball, who may better this rating and upset this race. When running at 1 1/16 Mile at Churchill he tired, but this race is only 6 Furlongs, and he likes that distance. Class question prevents this one from being the top level choice. Can he step up today ? Maybe...

Take a chance is the local horse with experience and connections who know this track. Does not look to be fast enough to cope with top level sprinters, but if he gets a clean break may forget he's in way over his head. Can be used in Superfecta's and looks to be a fun longshot play.

Race #9-DIXIE G2-$200K-1 1/8 Mile(TURF) *GRADE 2 STAKES HORSES*

Top Selection: S66 PP#1 Better Talk Now *Dominguez* 112/115

Second Selection: G75 PP#6 Good Reward *Bailey* 110/115 *BLZ*

Third Selection: D80 PP#4 Cool Conductor *Velasquez* 108/115 *FFS*

Fourth Selection: BT55 PP#3 Artie Schiller *Prado* 107/110 *SSP*

Fifth Selection: D82 PP#5 Uncle Bruce *Glasser* 105/110

Full Comments :

This is the Breeders Cup Turf winner from last year and he is red hot ! Dominguez will show off on this one, and we look for a power close to win big in the final 1/8 of the race. Very hard to go past this one, he looks like one of the most solid plays on the day.

Good Reward won the Hollywood Park Derby as a 3 yr old at long odds on the turf, and was competitive at Keeneland. Chug and Phipps join up for yet another homebred horse of impecable breeding and class. This is the case of a horse with a million dollar pedigree and a 250K ability. When he is right can run very big. Bailey up, this one should be used and can be considered insurance or a top play, but will need a perfect trip to win.

Cool Conductor's connections are fishing here for a stakes race to run in. They will need a perfect ride and a lot of racing luck. This one has good speed, but when he uses it early he tires out of the race. Last race was a good middle move close, but needs to have everything set up right for him.

Artie Shiller is a wonderful mile turf horse, but this race is 1 1/8 Mile. The extra distance will not help him at all. High Weighted and up against the conditions of this race, Artie will be closing powerfully, but will need a lot of racing luck to get up in time and not tire before the wire.

Uncle Bruce is an insiders play for you, our fans. He is too long and his past performances dont mesh with this field, but we offer him as a longshot play to add to your exotics or play across the board...you never know...

Race #11-SCHAFER G3-$100K-1 1/8 Mile *GRADE 3 STAKES HORSES*

Top Selection: G71 PP#7 Zakocity *Bailey* 93/95 *SBB, FFS*

Second Selection: S69 PP#5 Royal Assault *Bejarano* 91/100 *BLZ*

Third Selection: S68 PP#8 Alumni Hall *Albarado* 90/105

Fourth Selection: G77 PP#4 Seven Talents *Camacho* 89/100 *LSJ*

Fifth Selection: D83 PP#6 Contante *Santos* 87/95

Full Comments :

Zakocity is the class of this field, yet he keeps on finding excuses to lose against these horses. When this one is right, he will run circles around this level of horses. Bailey is up. Speed bias is in this ones favor, and we heard he is eating Pimlico up from our sources.

Royal Assault returns to a track he loves. Last year he won the Sir Barton here, and this is a Zito special. Bejarano has become his favorite new jockey to use and the kid can ride. Look for this one to be coming late, and may be too late to catch top choice, but if top choice does not fire...this one can win on best effort.

Alumni Hall won his last two at Keeneland, and looks monsterous, but his very high biar speed numbers cry out that he is due to bounce. Horses are not machines and one they reach a high point tend to tail off quickly. This one can win, but may also bounce here...hard to tell if this one will be stronger or weaker today.

7 Talents is the local horse here. King Leatherbury has a nice solid ALLW horse that loves this track. He has a chance to shine in here, but will really have to run his "A" race. This one should offer good odds value, but you have to think the horses he regularly faces here are at much lower class level.

Contante ran a big race at 1 mile at Aqueduct. Jose Santos takes the mount and the one may be on the improve, but is also fishing for a spot in here. Hard to like as top choice, but might run into the exotics at a price.

Race #12-PREAKNESS G1-$1,000,000-1 3/16 Mile *SECOND LEG OF TRIPLE CROWN HORSES*

Top Selection: D80 PP#2 High Fly *Bailey* 156/160 *SBB, FFS-1st, LSJ-1st*

Second Selection: P93 PP#5 Scrappy T *Dominguez* 153/165 *SSP, LSJ-2nd*

Third Selection: BT65 PP#12 Afleet Alex *Rose* 152/170 *BLZ, FFS-2nd*

Fourth Selection: D85 PP#9 Wilko *Nakatani* 149/160

Fifth Selection: G77 PP#3 Noble Causeway *Stevens* 147/160 *BLZ-2nd, SSP-2nd*

Full Comments : This is the BIG ONE. The 2nd Leg of the Triple Crown...but its hard to like Giacomo at all in here.

High Fly has all the perfect characteristics to make the Preakness his race. Speed, staminia, Bailey, and Zito. If High fly can run his normal race, he can steal this one on the backstretch. He will be pressured by others including his stablemate Sun King, and bad luck High Limit. Once Bailey shakes them off on the turn, he has to hold off the rest of the field coming from behind, but they may never catch him. Once he swings off that turn, High Fly may have an insurmountable lead. Zito also looking to make up for his loss at the KY Derby. This horse is well suited to a speed track like Pimlico, We like him very much, and you should catch a nice price on him.

Scrappy T is a wonderful horse to play in this race. His Withers victory was powerful and strong, showing signs that this one is on the improve. He ran 3rd behind Bellamy Road in the Wood, but that was a learning race for him, and gave him seasoning and experience. Dominguez picks up the mount and that tells us that he thinks this horse can win. Dominguez wants to impress his original home fans and win the big race. This on also has great speed and will always be in the hunt for the lead turning for home. Question of if he wants to go this distance, but he has speed to be close early, and then will have to prove himself. One thing is certain, he will be high odds.

Afleet Alex is the power closer and middle mover in this race. He always runs big, but everyone keeps ignoring the fact that he may be ready to bounce after so many hard and demanding efforts. Not so sure this was the right spot for him...maybe he could have rested for the Belmont Stakes. Emotions over road the decision to run here, and this one is capable of winning, but may be a tired 3rd or 4th at the wire. This is a big horse with big muscles and he might need some recovery time....or he might run big and win ! Your call, but we prefer to keep this one in the exotics and not in the top spot.

Wilko is another great longshot play. He has good tactical speed, and the distance is no problem for him. The question of having enough speed and closing kick to win the race are in question. his is the B.Cup Juv winner, and he has every right to win in here. Corey needs to get rolling sooner then he normally has this one ready and he has to go after the top choice. Running even with them will not help him, but a big move down the backstretch may put this one in the golden spot to win big.

Noble Causeway is so well bred and has run so nicely, that if you throw out the KY Derby fiasco he fell into, this one may be the next big thing in Horse Racing. Gary Stevens takes the mount and he can win the big races. Gary must conserve his horse and then let him fly home. If he gets a clear path on the outside, he may shock the tote at 10-1+ Needs a perfect ride and good racing luck to get the job done.

*Note - Giacomo is a nice horse, and he could win in this race. We simply think everything is against him here. That being said...if you have it in your bones and heart to root for a Triple Crown winner, then play Giacomo and root for him. We think of Giacomo as an emotional play for you, not as a logical one. No one picked him in the Derby and he won. He could win again, and dont let our leaving him out of the top 5 picks push you away from him if you like him.
