Saratoga Springs, NY Its late July, and the horses have returned to beautiful Saratoga Springs, NY. This lovely, picturesque racetrack has been thrilling fans since the Civil War, and is one of the oldest racing venue's in the United States. All the other guys forget to tell you that ! Every day will feature Stakes, and Graded Stakes races on the card. The very best horses in training will all try to ship in(if they are not already stabled here) and strut their stuff before exceptionally large crowds, which average between 30,000 and 45,000 daily. Travers Week/Weekend can expect to see more then 75,000 fans on average per day. *6 Day Race Schedule*
Saratoga Race Track will run on a 6 Day schedule. Monday racing will be added to the Wedenesday to Sunday schedule, and only Tuesday will be Dark. *Multiple Stakes Graded Stakes Listing for The Spa meeting*

Perhaps you have heard this odd phrase before, "The Graveyard of Favorites". The reason it is used in reference to Saratoga, is due to the fact that many Superstars have raced here in the big stakes races, and ... LOST ! One of the most famous upsets at Saratoga, was in 1973, when H. Allen Jerkens trained, Onion, defeated the mighty Triple Crown Winner, and legendary Secretariat. There have been many others over the long history of Saratoga, and be certain about this ... there will be more to come. Logic, or passion ? You might ask yourself, why have there been so many stories of upsets at Saratoga ? Is it real, or just Folklore ? Let me tell you, Stick Racing Fans, it is REAL ! I can remember when I was a child, watching odds on favorites of long forgotten ALW, and CLMG horses who lost their races. In recent years, we have seen a large number of favorites come in also. In order to make sense of the seemingly random number of favorites and longshots in different races at Saratoga, you have to understand that the depth of each race is perhaps the deepest in racing, in any generation. Saratoga Racing 1 Full Level Higher in Every Class then elsewhere
So many talented and well bred horses run at Saratoga, that you can consider a CLMG $30K to be a Black Type ALW $50K at many other tracks. Not all, but most of them. A Grade 3 Stake at Saratoga is a Grade 2 anywhere else. A Grade 1 at Saratoga can only hope to be equaled at another track anywhere in the World, it can never be surpassed to this writer. The Travers Stakes should be called the Breeders Cup 3 Year Old Race. As we get into the Breeders Cup in late October, 3 year olds race against their older rivals. The Travers is the final 3 yr old race that is so steeped in tradition, that many people consider it on par with the Kentucky Derby. We cannot take a side on that argument. We simply point it out for you to consider. The Kentucky Derby is America's Race. Perhaps the Travers Stakes is Part 2 of America's Race continued. That is for Equine historians to consider, and for our part, we truly love both races. They are the last of a closed class of races that showcase talent over reputation, and have the ability to truly captivate All Racing Fans. During the Summer months, and the Saratoga and Del Mar meeting's, we will also run a 6 Day Selections Schedule for our many fans around the USA and the World. We have heard that Saratoga racing will be available via simulcast for people from multiple countries as well as the USA, and we want to Welcome ALL of you to our site. In our web site reports, we have observed that 83% of our Customers and Visitors are from the USA(Every State sends us guests, with concentrations of fans in California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, and New York) and South America. Welcome Everyone. We also salute our visitors, approx. 1.3 % of total guests in our web site from the Navy, Air Force, and Army, we strongly support you openly and with all our hearts.
